Please note: A signed rental agreement stating your
compliance with these policies is required of all groups that desire to stay
at Camp Paddy Run.
Camp Paddy Run is a peaceful place surrounded by natural
beauty. Please respect the property and its neighbors. Individuals and
groups renting the camp must comply with the following regulations:
1. Disclosure of Use:
Upon filling out the reservation request form, renters must notify Camp
Paddy Run of the nature of planned program activities and intended use of
the property. Your stay at Camp Paddy Run should comply with these expressed
activities and adhere to all applicable laws, codes and regulations. If
there is a last minute change in plans, please inform our reservations
coordinator.
Renters are responsible for the safety and supervision of its group and
their behavior. Adult supervision of minor children is required on the
premises at all times.
2. Rental Terms:
Renters agree to supervise and to assume full control and responsibility for
all persons in your group as well as the responsible use of the property.
Camp Paddy Run’s caretaker or other volunteer staff may visit the property
while it is in use for maintenance reasons or to ensure proper use of the
camp.
Rental of the camp lodge includes water, electricity, and a normal amount of
trash disposal. Beds and mattresses are available as well as the use of the
kitchen and its cookware. Camp Paddy Run reserves the right to charge for
any damage, defacement or other necessary repairs caused by the renter
and/or excessive use of provided utilities.
3. Prohibited Activities:
For the safety and enjoyment of everyone, the following activities are
strictly prohibited:
-Hunting or trapping animals.
- Use of any/all types of firearms and ammunition.
- Use of explosives and fireworks.
- Use of drugs and illegal substances.
- Harming or disturbing wildlife and habitat- both plant and animal life.
- Use of Four Wheelers, ATV’s, dirt bikes or other motorized sports.
- Paintball.
- Horseback riding.
Disorderly conduct, drunkenness, drug use, obscene language, or disruptive
behavior will not be tolerated and will result in immediate eviction without
refund.
4. Health & Safety Concerns:
Pool Use: During the summer months, the pool may be available for use. It is
the renter’s responsibility to provide a lifeguard or adult supervision at
the pool during the entire time the pool is in use. Pool use is not
guaranteed with the rental, as occasionally maintenance and health & safety
issues beyond our control may arise.
Campfires: Campfires are permitted only in designated campfire circles.
Never leave a campfire unattended. After use, douse the fire and ashes
completely with water to avoid sparks and ashes from causing an uncontrolled
fire.
It is understood that both Camp Paddy Run and the renter must comply with
all lawful orders of appropriate fire control officials. During certain
times of the year, you may have to report to local officials that you will
be having an open air. During particularly dry seasons, open air fires may
be prohibited by law.
Firewood is available at campfire circles for your use. Dead wood and sticks
found on the ground can also be collected for firewood, but chopping down
live trees or branches is strictly prohibited.
Ashes from cigarettes and other tobacco products can cause forest fires too.
Smoking is limited to gravel areas only. Smoking is prohibited in all
buildings.
First Aid: Camp Paddy Run does not provide medical supervision, treatment,
maintenance or dispensing of medications to participants. These
responsibilities belong to the rental groups. It is strongly recommended
that you educate your group leaders on first-aid practices as well as
outdoor-specific issues such as poison ivy, bee strings and animal
encounters.
Vehicles: Use of personal vehicles at the facility is restricted to
designated roads and parking areas. Speeds on these unpaved surfaces should
not exceed 15 mph. No motor driven vehicles, other than transient vehicles,
are allowed on the camp’s grounds. Any reckless use of vehicles is
prohibited.
5. Check Out:
Camp Paddy Run maintains its lodge and grounds for everyone’s enjoyment.
Please help out by following the list of closing instructions which includes
sweeping up, cleaning out fire circles ( if used ), and patrolling the
surrounding areas for litter.
Do not remove anything from the camp that you did not bring. This includes
kitchen items, craft supplies, recreational equipment and any unused
firewood. Please do not leave items in the refrigerator, freezer, or
cabinets- in other words, if you brought it, please take it with you when
you leave.
Please “take only photos and memories; leave only footprints; kill nothing
but time.”
6. Payment Procedure:
Camp Paddy Run charges a guaranteed minimum fee for reservation and use of
its property.
A deposit
is required to finalize your reservation at Camp Paddy Run and will be
deducted from your final invoice provided no damage or extra expense has
been incurred. Your deposit amount is equal to the minimum amount ( $20 -
$70 ) or 20% of your total anticipated invoice, whichever is greater.
Upon check-out, please indicate the total number of guests so that we may
invoice you accurately. You may also opt to leave your payment in the
check-out envelope provided at the camp.
Individuals & groups with outstanding rental fees, deposits or assessed fees
due to damage or misuse will be denied reservation privileges of Camp Paddy
Run until outstanding amounts have been paid. The Paddy Run Outdoor Ministry
committee reserves the right to refuse rental to any group or individual.
Previous history of misuse, non-payment, or failure to adhere to the stated
policies in this rental agreement are considerations for refusal.
7. Cancellation Policy
Full deposit refunds will be issued if the cancellation request is received
30 days prior to your requested arrival date. Otherwise, your deposit will
be credited to your next stay or accepted as a tax-deductible donation to
the camp.
